English Department

Today English is considered the first world language, understood by most populations globally. It is channel of expression & communication. It plays a pivotal role in the personality of a student. The department has adapted and modified the curriculum according to the current needs of students and to prepare them to compete with the global trends in the job market. The department's vision is to equip the students to become effective global communicators.

Events and Achievements of the Department

1. An activity based methodology is followed viz group discussions, book reading, debates, language quiz, advertisement drafting, role enactment and short films.
2. Core areas of focus include public speaking, personality grooming, job skills and social awareness.
3. Students are given regular internet updates on free web sites for language learning.
4. Audio–visual is optimally used to train the students in listening comprehension.
5. Diversified instruction material is employed- Newspaper cuttings, T.V Talk show, You Tube, Blogs etc.
6. Short films on both subject related topics and topics of general interest are shown.
7. IEO is the most awaited event amongst the students, where they test their own language skill.
